Math - Lesson 12-3 “Polygons and Angles”
Last week, several students and parents mentioned that Lesson 12-1 was challenging especially using IXL. Normally, this lesson would be very hands-on and taught using actual shapes at school. Therefore, I tried to create a video that I hope will help the students out. To watch, copy and paste the link into your browser: https://youtu.be/0FUPvK4uUBM

Writing -
Last week, you learned about the parts included in opinion writing.
Complete the following prompt:
“Would you rather live in the mountains or by the ocean? Explain why. State your opinion, include at least 3 reasons, and finish with a conclusion."
Remember to:
-
Start your introduction with a “hook”. Remember that can be a question, sound words, a descriptive setting, anything that grabs your reader’s attention.
-
Then state your opinion in your introduction. Use starters like “ In my opinion,” “I believe”, “I prefer”
-
Next support your opinion with at least 3 reasons
-
Finally write your conclusion.
Happy Wednesday!! (4/8)
Congratulations to Ava, Reilly, Ryan, and Nicholas for guessing the correct contraction! “Won’t” breaks the rules because it is the contraction for will and not, but doesn’t use ‘will’ to form the contraction!
Congratulations to Christiano for learning how to ride a two-wheeler! Be safe and have fun on your bike!
Congratulations to Reilly H. for losing a tooth!
Keep emailing me anything special that happens to you while we are at home. I’d love to share the good news!!
