Hello Parents!

As we go through this very crazy experience together, I just wanted to provide you with a few tips to help your children get through this time and to help get them back to normal when it is over.  These were given to me by our school's occupational therapist and I thought they might be beneficial to you.

1.  Change in routine can be very hard for children.  Establish a routine for your child in order to help them adjust easier with this change. Try to stick to normal wake up times and bed times.
2.  Designating a specific work place for your child to complete classwork would also be helpful.  Try to choose an area with limited distractions (both auditory and visual).
3.   Please make sure to designate time for your child to take a sensory break.    It will help to improve their attention to task.   This can include indoor movement breaks such as jumping jacks, jumping, bear walking, crab walking, sit ups, and push ups.  You can also go online to gonoodle.com for movement videos.
4.  Remind your child that their teacher misses them and is looking forward to getting back to normal!!! :)
Hope everyone stays healthy and safe!
