Irvington High School has participated in several JA sponsored events including:

Job Shadow/Mentoring Program, BCG & PwC Career Success Workshop:

The purpose of the Junior Achievement and AT&T Job Shadow/Mentoring Program is to provide students with engaging, academically enriching, and experiential-learning sessions in work-readiness education and career perspectives. The students spend a day shadowing an AT&T employee at their local site; students will identify areas of future job interests and are matched with employees who hold those positions.  This program helps students identify their career cluster, interests, interview strategies, how to write a successful resume, what type of post-secondary education and/or training is necessary, promotes work-readiness awareness, and provides them with engaging, academically enriching, and experiential-learning sessions in work-readiness education and career perspectives.

JA Career Success™ delivers both career exploration and work readiness skills through hands-on, interactive program activities. The program is correlated to New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standard 9, 21st-Century Life and Careers, and complements the NJDOE Department of Career and Technical Education’s Career Ready Practices. This interactive, one-day event helps high school students develop valuable employability skills necessary to achieve success, learn how to effectively conduct a job search and respond to common interview questions, and how positively building their personal brand can translate to a rewarding career. Students have a unique opportunity to connect with volunteer role models from various careers and industries.
