Student Expectations
Landscape Design - Mr. Rudderow
I. Academic Requirement
Student’s achievement will be determined by successful completion of exams, tests, quizzes, classwork, homework, reports, projects, laboratories, and class participation.
II. Behavior
Students are expected to arrive to class on time with class books, notebooks, writing implements, and other class material.
Students are to obey all school rules of discipline
Students are expected to respect the rights of other students to obtain an education and not infringe upon those rights by disrupting class.
Students are expected to do their own work and do it honestly. Group projects and team work will reflect everyone’s sincere effort to strive for excellence. Be proud of your work!
When the teacher is absent, all students will follow the directions given by the substitute teacher. Every student is expected to complete all assigned work.
III. Evaluating/Grading
Test grades during the Marking Period will be averaged and will make up 25% of the Marking Period grade.
Projects and reports will be averaged and will make up 25% of the Marking Period grade.
Constructive participation in class will make up 20% of the Marking Period grade.
Quiz will be averaged and will make up 15% of the Marking Period grade.
Classwork and homework grades will be averaged and will make up 15% of the Marking Period grade.
Both Marking Period grades and the Final Exam grade will be averaged to determine the Final Grade.
IV. Homework
Homework may be given up to 3 times per week. Usually each assignment can be completed in approximately 15 minutes. It is expected that the homework will be completed before coming to class.
V. Class Materials
Students will be assigned a textbook that should be covered and brought to class daily. Students will be assessed for lost or damaged books. Students should supply a notebook to keep all class notes and handouts in and bring this to class daily. A laboratory notebook will be supplied. Other books may be supplied in class for use in class. These may be borrowed overnight and returned the next morning before the beginning of school.
VI. Extra Credit
Extra credit will be available to those students who complete all assignments and complete the extra work within the allotted time. Extra credit will not be given to those students who have not completed their regular assignments.
VII. Progress Reports
Generally, the last day of each week, students will be issued progress reports to allow them to see their grades and know what work is missing. It is expected that students will share these reports with their parents.
