Introduction to Teaching Strategies GOLD® 

 

Teaching Strategies GOLD® for Early Childhood  is an authentic, observational assessment system and provides the most innovative and effective assessment, professional development, and family connection resources to programs serving children from birth through Kindergarten.   It helps teachers identify with validity and reliability what children know and thier proficiency.  We will be observing their strengths, needs, and interests as well as scaffolding children’s learning.    

 

The primary purposes of the Teaching Strategies GOLD® assessment system is to

observe & document children’s learning over time, design lessons and instruction geared towards small and large groups as well as the individual child, identify children who may need additional scaffolding and facilitate communication with families.

 

In addition, teachers collect and gather child outcome information as one part of a larger accountability system, provide reports to administrators to guide program planning and professional development opportunities

 

Teaching Strategies GOLD® Assessment The Objectives for Development and Learning for the assesment system focuses educators’ time by measuring the knowledge, skills, and behaviors most predictive of school success.
