Rules for Station Rotations

 

You will have a limited amount of time at each station. Everyone in the group should be completing the activities and answering questions. Students should not copy their answers from others in the group.

Once you have answered the questions, all members of the group should check their work with each other and discuss their answers. 

If you have completed and checked your work, use the remaining time to study the material at your station. Ask each other questions, re-read the passage and take additional notes, watch the video again or complete the activity again. You may not move on to the next station until the time is up. 

Stay on task! You should not be discussing anything with your group besides the subject we are learning. It is not time to talk about the game last night, what you're having for lunch or what your plans are for the weekend. If you see someone in your group is struggling, use the time to help them. It will also help you to master the material as you explain to others :)

If I am working with a small group or individual, please do not ask me questions during that time. Discuss the questions with your group or save the questions for our wrap-up at the end of class. If you are afraid you might forget your question, write it down or put it on a post-it in our parking lot in the back of the room. I will answer it as soon as I can.
