Absences, Late, and Missing Work

  • Student Responsibility: Students must make up all missed work. Classwork and homework are posted in OnCourse Classroom. Printable worksheets are available there.

  • Late Online Work: Any late assignment submitted in OnCourse (whether due to absence or not) requires a Google Form submission so I know to re-grade it.

  • Late Policy:

    • Work can be turned in up to 5 days late with a 10% point deduction per day.

    • No late work is accepted if the answers were reviewed in class or an answer key was provided.

    • The form is locked during gradebook freezes and I check it about once a week, so please do not ask me for an immediate update.

  • Paper Copies After Absence:

    • If copies were handed out in class, one will be saved in a folder for your class.

    • Pick it up when you return and write:

      • Your first and last name

      • Class period/section and whether it’s A or B day

      • The dates you were absent

  • Long-Term Assignments:

    • If you were present when the assignment was given, it’s due on time—even if you were absent on the due date.

    • Emergencies are handled case-by-case—please contact me.

  • Working from Home (Quarantine, Suspension, etc.):

    • Keep up using OnCourse and Google Classroom.

    • If you can’t print a worksheet, do it on separate paper.

  • Lost Worksheets:

    • Reprint from OnCourse.

    • You get 1 day per excused absence day to turn in missed work, up to 5 days.

    • More time needs administrative approval.

    • If you were in school when a test/quiz was announced, be ready to take it when you return.

  • No Printer?

    • Copy the questions and answers on another sheet of paper—answers only won’t count.

  • Tech Problems?

    • Bring a note or email from a parent by the due date (or earlier).

    • Notes will not be accepted the next day.
