CLASS RULES
No talking when someone else is speaking! Be Respectful to classmates and to me.
Cell Phones – All cell phones must be put away during class. You have a computer to use and should not need your phone for anything.
Attendance – Please be on time for class each day and ready to work.
If a student has 8 unexcused absences, a Loss of Credit warning will be sent home. After 16 unexcused absences, the student will automatically be in Loss of Credit for the course. In the case of an excused absence it is the student’s responsibility to question what they have missed and schedule time with me to go over possible demos or lessons they might have missed. I will not always be able to cover missed information during normal class time. Please be aware that if a student misses days of class and fails to show initiative to catch up, it could make you have having difficulty with the current project.
Also...please do not cut my class. You will be written up.
Tardiness – Students are expected to arrive in class before the late bell. I understand that some students have classes at the opposite end of the school and the halls are very crowded. Please make the effort to get to my class ON TIME. However, if you are more than 5-10 minutes late after the bell, then you are considered late. Many instructions and/or demos will begin promptly at the beginning of class thus making the first minutes very important. When you get three (3) lates, you will get written up.
Music – I play music in class during work times, such as 80s, classic rock, etc. You are not allowed to use your airpods/headphones in the class.
Interruptions/Disruptions – Students are expected to behave while in the class. If you need to ask questions, please raise your hand or approach me for help. Don't just call out and interrupt the lesson. If the student disrupts the class, then they will be spoken to at the time of the outburst. Any further incidents will get the student sent to the assistant principal or principal's office. Also...if you need help, please ask. Don't struggle if you don't have to.
Cursing/Swearing – I DO NOT tolerate profane or foul language in my class. Please respect this rule.
Internet Games – If you're playing a game, then you've obviously finished all your work, right? I thought so. Don't play internet games during my class. There is a good amount of art and design work that has to get completed and the majority of the students do NOT have Adobe programs at home, which means they only have MY class to work in. If the student is playing games rather than working, they will be told to stop what they are doing. If I have to speak to the student more than once, they will lose computer privileges for the rest of the day, week, etc.
