GRADING

I don’t give grades...you will earn them. It’s a fun, cool and casual class for sure, but don't expect to charm your way to a good grade. I expect work to be completed within the time parameters set at the beginning of projects. That said, if you take all of 5 minutes to do my required work, I will take all of 2 seconds to give you a grade. You have full class periods to design - please take advantage of this time and create something cool!

GRADING BREAKDOWN

• Design Projects: 80%
• Digital Art Projects, Quizzes, Homework, Benchmark Assessments:   20%

 

PARTICIPATION
Participation is a big component of this class.
Successful participation means that the student will:

• Always be prepared with any needed materials for class, such as flash drives, homework assignments, etc.
• Actively use each class time for doing MY assigned work and NOT homework from other classes
• Participate in demonstrations and class discussions
• Be present for every class period

The rest of your grade will consist of graded projects, assignments, essays, sketchbooks/notebooks and quizzes. Due dates will be set at the beginning for each project. At that point if a project is not turned in it will be recorded as a 0 until I receive the project and finish grading it. Turn something in, even if it is not completed. Partial credit is better than no credit.
 

EVERY PROJECT MUST BE TURNED IN AT SOME POINT IN THE SEMESTER TO PASS THIS CLASS. IT WILL NOT MATTER WHAT YOUR GRADE IS IF ALL PROJECTS ARE NOT FINISHED. If a student is having trouble completing assignments or is being disruptive in class I will contact the student’s parent or guardian to inform them of the issues.
