Reading Challenges

 

 

Our ELA classes have created a "Reading Counts" program that includes a variety of ways to earn reading "points."  They will need to earn 15 reading points (not 15 AR points) to attend our Reading Extravaganza in December, and they'll need 30 by May to attend our final one at the end of the year.  Check the student's library/AR folder for more information.

Students must have a book with them every day!  They can check out one book at a time from my class bookshelf and three books at a time from the school library, so there are no excuses!  Many of my students are avid readers, so I strongly encourage you to use the public library, too.

 

Research and practice have proven that a student’s increase in reading level results in increased achievement across all subject areas, so please encourage your child to read at home daily! :)
