ELA Curriculum

Since 2019, our parish has been using a curriculum for 6th-8th grade ELA called MyPerspectives.  Each student will be given a consumable workbook, and we will access some features of the curriculum on computers.  (The complete workbook can also be accessed online, so your child does not need to bring the workbook home.  It's big and heavy!)  We will also read class novels to supplement the material in the workbooks.

The following are the units and essential questions for each unit in our 6th grade curriculum.

Unit 1:  Childhood

- Essential Question for the Unit:  What are some of the challenges and triumphs of growing up?

Unit 2:  Animal Allies

- Essential Question for the Unit:  How can people and animals relate to one another?

Unit 3:  Modern Technology

- Essential Question for the Unit:  How is modern technology helpful and harmful to society?

Unit 4:  Imagination

- Essential Question for the Unit:  Where can imagination lead?
