Ways to Stay Informed:

 

• Sign up for text message reminders by texting @reynerson6 to 81010.

 

• Check homework in your child's planner. (Students should copy each Monday and add as needed.)
• Check PowerSchool weekly to view your child's grades. (Check with the LOM guidance office if you don't know your child's login info.)
• Email me with any questions, concerns, or comments. I want to work with you to provide the best possible learning experience for your child.

 

 

The best way to help your child become a better reader is to encourage him/her to read, read, READ!

 

Choosing the Right Books

Parents need to be aware that books written for middle school students vary widely in content.  Some parents of sixth-graders may be totally okay with their children reading books with some romance or lots of violence, while others may think they're not quite ready for those topics yet. Here is some information to help you determine which books are most appropriate for your child. 

 

• When looking up a book in AR, books noted with an interest level of "MG" are recommended for grades 4-8, "MG+" for grades 6 and up, and "UG" for grades 9-12.     www.arbookfind.com  (Our class bookshelf consists mostly of "MG" rated books, and some "MG+".)
