INTRODUCTION TO DECODABLES IN READING 

 

 

                        This week we will begin our Reading program which consists of a Pre- decodable and eventually

                        a Decodable that enables your child to master fluency, practice sight words and use phonetic 

                        awareness skills to help them begin their Reading journey. The Pre Decodable will be sent home 

                        and will be noted on the homework calendar, please review it and eventually practice reading it. 

                        Please return it signed and dated, I will then return it so you can keep it to practice and develop a 

                        "Just Right " Reading library as your  child begins his or her reading journey. Reading with your

                        child for as little as 10 minutes a day produces great progress in their skills. 

                        Have fun and enjoy this remarkable journey your little learner is on , as alawys make learning

Scholastic Book Order Forms were sent home with your child today 9/12,  please take time to look at them.

Ordering books is a great way to keep your child engaged in his or her reading journey. We also receive class  points for every book ordered and can purchase favorites to add to our class library.
