STAR STUDENT AND SURPRISE BOX INFORMATION:

Kindergarteners begin to experience a weekly Star Student beginning the end of September . We pick a weekly candidate by chance on Friday the week before this  enables the poster to be done on the weekend and sent back with 5 small items to share on Monday . The items are to share daily during the week.  On that Friday, the students parents can visit the classroom ( time to be determined on the paper sent home on the friday before) They are asked to read their child's favorite book and share the poster with the class. It is very simple and sweet and our kiddos enjoy this simplicity of feeling special on that day . If you choose to bring in a small token (totally optional ) please make sure it has no food componant.

SURPRISE BOX :

This is another fun tradition daily, children will start this the last week of September . the paper explains that your child will be given 4 post its to write three clues and one bonus clue about the small object in the box. The child who guesses the item correctly will take the box home that night  and the process will begin again.  Fun way to engage our students to listen and learn !!!
