When to Stay Home

Sending your child to school sick puts your child at risk for prolonged illness AND puts the children around him/her at greater risk for becoming ill.  The following guidelines will assist you in determining when your child is too sick to come to school.

Please keep your child home if he/she has...

- Fever > 100.0  *must be fever free without using fever reducing medication for 24 hrs before returning to school

- Nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea *must be free of vomiting/diarrhea for 24 hrs before returning to school

***if your child's 24 hours ends during the school day, please keep them home until the next school day***

- Acute cold and/or persistent cough, sore throat, persistent headache, muscle aches or shivers

- A rash of unknown origin *should be examined by a doctor to make sure the rash is not contagious.

- *If your student has any symptoms that would be disruptive to learning please keep home.

Please call/email Mrs. Blatcher to report your child ill as well as reporting to the main office

THANK YOU!!
