1. Read and review CH's 9-15 and complete chapter reviews.

   Ch 15 The GI system-structure and function, bowel elimination-normal vs what to report, assisting with bowel elimination (bedpan), assisting with a urinal, helping to use a portable commode, enema, stool specimen guidelines, caring for an otomy, and review common disorders of the GI system-GERD, Cirrhosis, Crohn's, Diverticulosis, Constipation, Diarrhea etc.

   Ch 14 Nutrition and Fluid balance-review nutrients, different types of prescribed diets, types of thickened liquids and what they are used for, review serving a meal tray and feeding residents and how to make dinning enjoyable, review how to assist residents with special needs including dysphagia and preventing aspiration. Review measuring I&O ( 1oz=30ml/cc), list ways to prevent malnutrition and dehydration, review fluid overload and s/sx to report

   CH 13 Vital Signs- review the 5 vital signs-BP, P, R, T, Pain

( what instruments are required to take VS, normal ranges and what factors make affect each VS, either increasing or decreasing it.)

   CH 12-Personal Care- this chapter focuses on many skills, review each skill and terminology related to skills

   CH 11-Positioning, Moving and Lifting- review body mechanics, body positions, ambulation

review skills and terminology

   Ch 10-Bedmaking and Unit Care-review what affects sleep,cleaning a residents room, types of beds, bedmaking (open, closed, surgical, occupied and unoccupied)

   CH 9-Admission, Transfer, Discharge and Physical exams-review NA role in admissions, transferring and discharge of patients,  pt positions, measuring ht and wt. ( 1kg-2.2 lbs & 1 ft-12 in)

-Occupied bed change ( change bine while resident is in bed)

-change resident's position to supported side lying position with pillows
