STEAM INFORMATION
Welcome parents and students! This year, Northfield Community Elementary students will participate in STEAM class once in a 5 day cycle. STEAM class provides students with a hands on experience that incorporates the subjects of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. In the STEAM lab, students will explore programming, 3D design, robotics, animations, augmented reality, and engineering. To design projects, students will use apps on personal computers. Students will also create prototypes with recycled materials.
For safety, students should wear sturdy shoes on STEAM days. Also, please send in the following to your child's homeroom teacher for related arts classes:
- computer mouse
- headphones
- scotch tape (optional)
- scissors
If you are interested in sending in materials for our STEAM projects, we can always use the following:
- disinfecting wipes
- shoe boxes
- scotch tape (individual rolls)
