Make an Abstract Portrait!
Ask your child, "What is a portrait?" (A portrait is a work of art about a person.) Tell your child that today they are going to make a virtual portrait just like the famous artist, Pablo Picasso!
First, check out this read aloud book by Violet Lemay called, 100 Pablo Picassos:

After the book, ask your child to tell you about Picasso's portraits. What shapes did he use? What colors? Did the art look realistic or abstract?
Next, it's time to make the virtual portrait!
