My name is Mrs. Rebecca Leitz. This is my third year at Mason Creek Elementary. I am originally from Cincinnati, OH. After graduating from Northern Kentucky University with a double major in Elementary Education and Art, I moved to Panama City, FL. While living in the Panhandle, I taught 4th grade at a magnet school for the visual and performing arts and earned an add-on to my certification for gifted children. In 2000, I moved to Paulding County and began teaching 3rd grade at Nebo Elementary. While at Nebo, I attended classes at KSU to earn my Masters Degree in Ed. Leadership, and I attended classes at Piedmont College to earn my Ed. Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Eventually, I taught 4th grade and Art at Nebo Elementary until I left teaching for a year to stay home with my newborn son, Nathaniel. In 2012, I taught art at Nickajack Elementary in Cobb County. Most recently, I was the art teacher at Panter Elementary in Paulding County from 2013 to 2018. Finally, my 22nd year teaching, I am teaching visual arts at Mason Creek Elementary.
I love the arts, but I also enjoy a good book, a cup of tea, movies, live music, and baseball. My husband is a P.A. for the E.R. at Tanner in Villa Rica and Carrolton. My son is turning 10 in December, and he is now a fourth grader at Mason Creek Elementary!
