It is my desire and responsibility to provide children with a safe environment in the classroom. In order to promote a positive learning environment, all of the children will have classroom and school expectations to follow.  During the first few days we will make a list of what these expectations look and sound like for maximum learning. The following is what will be expected of each student.

Class rules:

Rule #1 - Follow directions quickly.

Rule #2 - Raise your hand for permission to speak.

Rule #3 - Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.

Rule #4 - Make smart choices.

Rule #5 - Keep your dear teacher happy.

Classroom Rules:

Students will begin each day on "Ready to learn!" and will move up and down based on behavior expectations and choices. Recognition is made in class as the students continue to move up the chart with their positive choices.

Red

Outstanding

Students who reach the Red level will be rewarded for their positive choices.

Orange

Great Job

Students who continue to make positive choices move up to the orange level.  They are one step closer to having outstanding classroom behavior!

Yellow

Good Day

Students who make positive choices will receive recognition as they move up the chart.

Green

Ready to Learn

Everyone starts the day “Ready to Learn!"  Students can “clip up” or “clip down” throughout the day depending on their behavior choices.

Blue

Think About It

Students who receive a warning will move to blue.  This serves as a reminder to students to think about the choices being made.

Purple

Teacher’s Choice

Students who continue to struggle with making positive choices will move to purple.  This will result in a consequence that is appropriate for the choice that was made.  Different choices require different consequences, so consequences vary (time out, loss of privilege, loss of playtime,  etc…)

Pink

Parent Contact

Students who move to pink will require parental contact..  Parents will be contacted via telephone, email or note depending on the severity of the behavioral choice.

Individual daily information can be found in your child's agenda every night. Please be sure to sign the agenda nightly.
