Meet the Teacher

Mrs. Rough has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and a Master of Arts degree in English Literature. She is certified to teach in both New Jersey and New York.  She has been teaching since 1999.

She has taught grades two, three, four, five, six, seven, and eight and has also taught basic skills, advanced reading and writing classes, and gifted and talented.

Mrs. Rough loves to teach, hear jokes, and read. Her favorite story genre is mystery and suspense, but she is also a big fan of the Harry Potter series.

A person who loves to watch movies and listen to music, Mrs. Rough's favorite movies are Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc and The Mummy (1999).  Her favorite music varies, but it is her belief that all major stars aligned when the Sirius XM Margaritaville station was founded.

Mrs. Rough grew up in northern New Jersey, but her childhood was truly made whole by playing Skeeball down at any of the Jersey shore boardwalks.

As a family of campers (or, call them "glampers" - they have no shame), the Rough family's favorite destinations are Fort Wilderness at Walt Disney World and Key West in Florida, Lake Placid, New York, and Delaware Seashore State Park.

Mrs. Rough moved to the Mid-Hudson Valley in New York state when she got married.  She lives there with her husband and two children (ages 16 & 14).
