Helpful Links and Information

Close Reading is:

  • thoughtful
  • focused
  • text-based

Our class strives to closely read texts and respond in writing every day.

The following link will provide you with resources for annotating:

Annotating is:

  • marking up the text
  • flagging (with post-its)
  • taking notes

All of these phrases are used in class.  Students will understand how they are related. When asked to annotate, students will, in some way, take notes on a text.  This may not be the literal "marking up" of the text.
