*Many Friday's I will send home a packet called the Friday Folder. This is a compilation of your child’s work from the previous week(s). Please look through the assignments and assessments in the folder so that you are aware of how your child is progressing in class. After going through the folder and removing the week's work, return the empty folder on the next school day.
*It is also important to note that Progress Reports will be sent home occasionally and as needed! They are sent on Friday or the last day of the week and are due back signed on Monday. Please anticipate these to come home in the Binder and don’t hesitate to come to me with questions or concerns regarding them or anything else. Focus is readily available to check grades at any time you would like, if there is a concern on my end that you should be aware of I will be in contact with you.
*A Newsletter will be sent home each Monday and will be added to the clear page of the binder, which comes home daily. This newsletter will contain information on spelling or vocabulary for the week we are working on in Reading, what we are studying for the week in Language and Math, upcoming class & school events, and any other information important to your child’s success in my classroom. The newsletter is very informative and will be helpful with knowing each night's homework and what will be needed for studying for upcoming tests.
MY PERSONAL CLASSROOM MISSION:
I believe that all children can learn if given the right tools. Our classroom will strive to be a place where all children will have the opportunity to show their individual strengths and build upon their unique differences. I believe that education and learning should be fun, exciting, and challenging. If young children develop a love for learning at an early age, that love will continue to grow as they do. Through the use of projects, hands-on activities, technology, and cooperative learning I will do my part to encourage and motivate each child to achieve at their highest level and develop into life-long learners. I know that education is a partnership between home, school, and community. I am available at any time for parent conferences, concerns, or questions. Through working together, we can make 2nd grade an enjoyable and challenging experience.
Motto: A teacher’s success is measured by the success of her students; therefore my number one goal is to ensure that your child does his or her very best at all times in order to be a successful second grader.
