       Classroom Behavior Plan

In order to provide my students with the opportunity to learn in an environment free from distractions, I have developed the following Behavior Plan which will be in effect in our classroom at all times throughout the course of the school year.

OUR MAIN CLASSROOM RULES

*Be Respectful

*Be Responsible

*Treat others the way you want to be treated

Kermit the Frog once stated, “It’s not easy being green”.  Well, this is true, and it is also the backbone of my behavior system. Every child will arrive daily with their stick in a GREEN pocket on my “stoplight”.  This indicates positive behavior.  If during the day a student receives 3 “strikes” for negative behavior, they will move their stick into the YELLOW pocket of the “stoplight”.  Continuation of negative behavior will result in moving their stick to the RED pocket of the “stoplight”. I will stamp their Diplomat planner at the end of each day with the color that they have earned for the day. Parents, please remember that “it’s not easy being green”.   If we have any “major” issues, I will give you a call, but most of the time, I will handle things at school and all will be just fine. Don’t worry…we are going to have a GREAT year.

*Bonus* I have also created a separate BLUE “star student” area.  If your student comes home with a BLUE stamp be ready to celebrate. This indicates that your child exceeded expectations with peers or with me during the day and praise is necessary!!

Our Mission Statement:

*We will work hard and use our "Power to Choose" to learn all about 2nd grade.

*We will follow directions, be respectful to others, and stay focused.

*To achieve our goals we will always be Bucket Fillers and believe in ourselves!!

Please take the time to talk to your child about how their day has gone.  I will also ask that you initial each day that you have seen your child’s planner. Please review these rules & expectations with your son or daughter, and encourage them to use appropriate behavior every day. Always try to stress the positives!

Thank you in advance for your support throughout the year.  It’s going to be a year of tremendous growth and learning!!!
