This is my second year teaching in the North Haledon School District, and going on my third and a half year teaching science. In the past, I also taught 7th Grade Life Science and Physical Science in Hudson County and Sussex County. I am thrilled to be teaching at HMS and I love educating others about science.
Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a paraprofessional for three years in Vernon,NJ as well as a substitute teacher (grades 5-12) and replacement art teacher (grades 7-8). I also was an assistant supervisor for an afterschool program for two years at the Vernon PAL. I received my teaching certifications in Elementary Education (K-6) and Middle School Science (5-8 Endorsement) from Caldwell University in 2017. I also received my Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Minor in Biology from Stockton University in 2014. Prior to that I received my Associate's in Biology from Sussex County Community College in 2011. Currently, I am working on obtaining my Special Education Certification from Caldwell University, which I anticipate on receiving this December.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy volunteering for various charities and organizations including assisting with fundraising for my friend's dog rescue "Emerald City Rescue." I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends and going on adventures (such as hiking the Appalachian Trail). In addition, I have an artistic background and love to craft, draw, paint, and even cook/bake in my spare time.
