**REMOTE LEARNING** For 4th marking period a special Google Classroom has been set up for the 8th grade FACS cycle class. Please email Mrs Schafer at [email protected] for the classroom code.
Students will spend one marking period being introduced to the wonderful world of Family and Consumer sciences.
Students will learn basic sewing and cooking skills in our short time together and I hope it inspires and interests them enough to consider these classes as they enter high school.

how to machine sew a straight stitch
how to hand sew
sew a button
All of these skills will come together in a custom handmade pillow and mini notebook.
No materials are required for this course unless a student would like to bring in their own style of fabric. ***If so...the student will need to bring in 2 cotton fat quarters (of matching or contrasting fabric). Fabric "Fat Quarters" can be purchased at Joann fabrics, A.C. Moore, and Walmart.
In the kitchen the students will cook...

All while learning time management, team work, proper kitchen sanitation and cleanliness and the terms and uses of different kitchen gadgets.
