In Foods Two class students will extend on their understanding of the culinary arts!

After completing foods one students will now learn more about developing recipes, and baking and decorating more complex pastries. Students will work in teams to create menus for events considering dietary needs and monetary restrictions.

 

Students will learn…
knife skills: slice, chop, and dice foods,
how to properly cook different meats to industry standards,
how to create a cohesive holiday or event menu
the art of baking
carving and food art
how to make a grocery list and budget
how to alter recipes
cooking in non-traditional kitchens (cooking healthy in college)
and how food is rooted in who we are and how we taste the world, including culinary tradition and culture

 

This single semester class will be extremely hands on and fast paced but lots of fun and mouthwatering.
