Media Center Programs

 


The media center runs a variety of programs, some of which are singular activities and some that are year-long.  Scroll down to view the different events going on at the library.

 


Battle of the Books (yearlong)


Dates: Twice monthly, increasing to weekly from October-May.

  • 6th grade team meets on MONDAYS
  • 7th/8th grade team meets on THURSDAYS

Times: 2:45 to 3:15 PM

Location: Library Media Center

 

Battle of the Books is a fun, team-based club that reads books for pleasure.  Students will attempt to remember as many details about the books as possible in order to participate in a Jeopardy-style trivia contest in the spring.  More details, including the book lists can be found on the Battle of the Books page (see sidebar).

Upcoming Events

Rohrer Middle School would like to extend the opportunity to the students and families of Haddon Township to participate in the following events. All of the events focus on Wendy Mass’ Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life, the 2016 One Book, One School selection.

Nesting Boxes Craft (2 Dates Available!)

Dates: Wed. 9/21 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM OR Thurs. 9/29 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Location: William G. Rohrer Public Library

 

Unlock your creativity and create a set of (4) nesting boxes! The teen librarian at the public library will lead students through the process. Students will be able to take their boxes home at the end of the session. All supplies are provided.

 

Space is limited to 12 students per session. It is a first-come, first-serve registration process to enroll.

 

To Register: Students see Amanda Tagmire (librarian) at the Library Media Center ASAP. This event is for Rohrer students only (no parents).

 

Family Book Club Night

Date: Mon. 10/3 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Location: Paul F. Gilligan III Media Center (RMS/HTHS school library)

 

Join us for an evening of conversation centering on Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life and light refreshments. The format will follow that of atraditional book club. All RMS students and their families are welcome!
