Welcome to Mr. Ives 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies Class

Students will be learning about different aspecst of ancient Egyptian life. Students will focus on how the Nile River played a major role in the creation of ancient Egyptian civilization. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Description– This course will cover a number of different historical topics. 

 

       7th Grade Topics -       Pre-civilization/ Geography

                                            Intro to the first human settlements

                                            Egyptian Society/Nile River Society

                                            Alexander the Great/Ancient Persia

                                            Ancient Greece

                                            Ancient China/Japan/India

                                            NHD Project

                                            Civilization Project

 

 

Grading -  Summative: 55% (Tests, Projects, Document Based Questions “DBQ’s”)

                  Formative:   40% (Quizzes, Worksheets, Do Now, Classwork, Homework)

                  District Assessment:  5%  (There will be no extra credit)
