Welcome to Language Arts!
Hello! I am Ms. Kennedy and I am extremely excited to work with all of you this year! Since I am
going to learn about all of you, let me tell you a little about myself.
- I went to college at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey where I studied English and earned a Bachelors Degree in 2010.
- In 2010 I had an incredible student-teaching experience at West New York Middle School.
- In 2011 I attended the Graduate School of Education where I earned a Masters Degree after only one year of study.
- In 2011, I taught at Rutgers University for an amazing program called Rutgers Future Scholars.
- In 2017 Leslie Tolf, the author of the graphic novel, "When The Rules Aren't Right", flew to West New York in order to teach my class. In addition, she provided each student with a brand new copy of her graphic novel and even signed each one!
- In 2018 I created the Cooking Club at West New York Middle School and it became a part of the Knight Club. At Cooking Club students learn how to plan, prepare, cook and clean various options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert.
- In 2019 I was nominated by my peers as The Governor's Educator of the Year.
- Most importantly, I am looking forward to learning more about all of my students and to assist with your academic achievements this year!
