To better prepare students for the NJ State assessment, grades for narrative, expository and argumentative essays will be assigned according to the Holistic Scoring Rubric. The rubric assigns numerical grades to essays ranging from 1-4. The students will learn various strategies and techniques to help them reach the benchmarks listed in the rubric.

These standards will be the same values used to assess students on the NJ State assessment.
