                 Quadratic Function - Transformation Project

 

 

You will create a project that describes and demonstrates the quadratic functions we have studied.  You will create your own "equations " of quadratic functions. Project may be in the form of a poster/preferred/ or a scrapbook.

 

DUE DATE:  November 14, 2022(Late projects will be accepted - grade 10 points off)

 

Guidelines

Draw following Quadratic Functions.

Parent Function/write equation, graph solid bold line/.

Write down the domain( interval notation), the range(interval notation), x-intercepts, y-intercept, table of values, end  behavior.  Graphs(precision of graphing will be graded). Vertex, axis of symmetry, x-intercepts, y-intercept should be marked on the graph.

 

First transformed function.

 

Draw the parent function/dashed line -pencil or light marker/.

Draw a Quadratic Function - shifted right _?_ units/ write equation in vertex and standard form, graph- solid bold line-dark color marker/.

Write down the domain( interval notation), the range(interval notation), x-intercepts, y-intercept, table of values, end  behavior.  Graphs(precision of graphing will be graded). Vertex, axis of symmetry, x-intercepts, y-intercept should be marked on the graph.

 

Second transformed function.

Write  down the domain( interval notation), the range(interval notation), x-intercepts, y-intercept, table of values, end  behavior.  Graphs(precision of graphing will be graded). Vertex, axis of symmetry, x-intercepts, y-intercept should be marked on the graph.

 

Grading - This will be recorded as a Quiz grade for the  MP 1

  • Following Directions -10 points
  • Mathematical Correctness of Transformations and Descriptions - 60 points
  • Visual Appeal (use of color, neatness, etc.) - 30 points

 

 

The project should be in the form of a poster board or a scrapbook.
