Grades
- · All grades are based on a point system.
- · Tests will be assigned the highest points (60 – 100). There will be a test after each chapter.
- · Quizzes will be assigned a point value between 10 – 20 points.
- · Quick search, labs, current events and other written work will be worth 10 – 50 points depending on length.
- · We will follow the middle school grading policy regarding late or missing work.
Attendance
Students will have one day of make-up time for each day absent in order to complete work. It is your responsibility to find out about missing assignments or to obtain notes given in class. A folder will be kept in the room with handouts given. It is your responsibility to check this folder.
Tardy
You may not be late for class without a pass. You must sign the “Late Log” when coming into class late without a pass. Two unexcused lates will result in a lunch detention.
Class Rules – Respect, Responsibility, Safety and Organization
- · Respect your peers, your teachers and school property.
- · Use appropriate language and actions.
- · Safety in the science lab is most important. (List of separate rules to follow)
- · Show responsibility for your own work.
- · Science is a very organized discipline. We will need to be organized to be successful scientists.
Thanks! I am looking forward to a great year!
