This year our school will be continuing to teach character education through The Leader in Me program. We will teach the 7 habits listed above, as well as, the 8th habit: Find Your Voice.

Habit 1: Be Proactive

I take the initiative 

I take responsibility for me! 

I carry my own "weather." 

I choose to have a positive attitude. 

 

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind

I have a plan for my life, and I set a goal to reach it.

 

Habit 3: Put First Things First

 I can prioritize and put the important things first.

I have many "rocks," but put the big rocks first.

I have purpose and try my best each day to complete what is expected of me.

I have balance in my life.

 

Habit 4: Think Win-Win

 I balance courage for getting what I want with consideration for what others want.

I make deposits in others’ emotional bank accounts.

When conflicts arise, I look for third alternatives.

 

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood

I listen when others are talking and do not interrupt.

I try to see the other person's point of view. 

 

Habit 6: Synergize

 I can work in a team to help me learn and to help others learn.

 

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

 I take care of myself by getting enough sleep, exercise, and eating healthy. 

 

Habit 8: Find Your Voice

 I know how and when to exercise my voice.

I stand up for what is right and stand up for others that may not be able to.
