I&RS and 504

 

AN OVERVIEW

 

The Intervention & Referral Services Team provides aid to students in the general education

program.

 

All assistance such as pull-out Basic Skills Instruction,  push-in academic support,

speech, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Art Therapy, and social skills

programming/plans may only be implemented through I&RS/504 Committee procedures.  

 

It is a first step or alternative to referring students for special services through the Child Study Team.  Section 504 Plans

may be developed based upon a child's medical diagnosis inhibiting his/her learning.
