Based on classroom observations, performance, and communication with you, we believe creating a short term support plan for student success will be beneficial at this time.

The Intervention Team serves to support students with general education interventions for academic, emotional, social, behavioral, and/or enrichment needs. Our collaborative efforts include your input and cooperation while we strive to support your child with the most effective plan that targets success.

Communication is established with the home, and a parent questionnaire is provided to access pertinent history related to the current classroom performance.   A holistic checklist that covers academic and behavioral indicators is completed by all the student’s teachers, including the Special Areas teachers.  This enables the team to gain a comprehensive perspective of the student from home and in all school settings.  We are seeking your honest feedback as it relates to the areas being addressed.

The Team meets prior to the parent meeting to brainstorm recommendations that will result in future growth and development.  The paperwork submitted by the teacher(s) consists of assessment results and work samples. The parent meeting is scheduled and the Team meets to share their findings and recommendations with the family and may adapt the support based on parent input.  An I&RS Plan is a living document and changes as the child’s needs change.  A 10 week intervention cycle commences.  The team will reconvene at 10 weeks to review the plan, the effectiveness of the interventions, and make suggestions for the future.
