The Wildcat Harmonizers is an ensemble of boys who sing four-part barbershop harmony. They are known for their intricately chorographed production numbers.  Here is the most recent video of the Wildcat Harmonizers, featuring Mr. Wernega's music arrangement and choreography to

History of the Wildcat Harmonizers

Mr. Wernega put together a group of seven boys to sing a barbershop arrangement of "The Auctioneer" in the spring of 2014.  Since only one of the boys had a changed voice, they sang it a seventh higher than written in their treble voices.  Here is the video of their first performance, which was also the first youtube video of a Quinton School performance.

This was not only very inspiring to the boys, but it wound up being a big hit with the audience.  Mr. Wernega realized how successful this was, and decided to continue working with the ensemble.  He expanded the group to eight boys and added chorography and costuming.  Here is their performance of "Hello Mary Lou" in the spring of 2015.

This video was seen by many people in the Barbershop Harmony Society.  Several people contacted Mr. Wernega recommending that he take them to the Midwinter Barbershop Convention for them to sing in the Youth Chorus Festival.  After much fund raising and many intense rehearsals, the boys flew to Reno, Nevada in January of 2015.  This may have been the first time Quinton School students went on a field trip by plane.  The Wildcat Harmonizers were by far the youngest ensemble to ever perform at this convention.  They wound up winning the Audience Favorite Award, and they made their mark in the Barbershop Harmony Society.  Here is the video of their performance in Reno.

It felt as thought they did it all when they returned home from Reno, but there was something bigger to come.  The Wildcat Harmonizers received the opportunity to perform in the Saturday Night Spectacular at the International Barbershop Convention in Nashville for a crowd of almost 8,000 viewers.  Mr. Wernega wrote them an arrangement of "It Don't Mean a Thing" and had them do much more intricate choreography than they did before.  Since enough of them had voice changes at this point they sang this in adult ranges.  Here is the video of their performance in Nashville.

After the Nashville convention they traveled to Lexington, Kentucky and performed the number on the Woodsongs Radio Show.

The Wildcat Harmonizers are still together now, carrying five of the seven original members.  They now have eleven boys.  The oldest member is in tenth grade, and the youngest is in third grade.  They continue to perform for concerts at Quinton School, as well as barbershop events in surrounding areas.
