September 2020-2021

 

Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

            My name is Ms. Laura Kress and I am one of the members of the Social Studies Department at Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School.

           This will be my twenty first year teaching in this district and twenty second year of my career.  Prior to becoming a teacher, I attended Kean University where I earned my BA in Teacher of the Handicapped (Special Education) and completed the courses necessary to become a teacher in the state of New Jersey. I am highly qualified to teach English as well as History under the TOH certification. I also completed the course work and necessary testing to become certified in elementary education as well as middle school Social Studies.          

 

            As an educator, I try to create a learning environment where all students have the confidence to achieve, to be heard, and to share their thoughts. My goal is to foster an environment of support where each child desires to take a degree of responsibility for his/her own education.  I also believe in building a somewhat personal relationship with each child, so that they trust the process of my classroom. I plan to make a more concerted effort to get to know my students in our new virtual classrooms.
