Expectations
- Be on-time
- Be prepared for class everyday, including hw,
- Respect yourself
- Respect your peers and adults in the room
Classwork
Unless otherwise discussed by your teacher(s), it will be due at the end of class. If work is handed in late, points will be taken off, half a grade a day, up to three days. After three days pass, if you have not worked out something with me/us prior, the grade will become a zero.
Homework
Homework will be assigned minimally three times a week; reading, note-taking, vocabulary, short answer, essays, and a few projects throughout the year. Again, if work is handed in late, points will be taken off, half a grade a day, up to three days. After three days pass, if you have not worked out something with us, prior, the grade will become a zero. Typically, the day after a reading assignment you will be given a three to five question "pop quiz"
Grading-
* 40%- Tests and Quizzes
* 40 % - Classwork and Homework
* 20 %- Other graded assigments (DBQ's, essays, projects etc.)
ALL- Grades will be updated weekly, however that does not mean all the work from a particular week is graded and input into Power-School. For example, it will take longer than three or four days to grade projects, essays, and tests that include open-ended responses. The more extensive assignments, the more time needed to grade them. We appreciate your understanding. Please email one or both of us, depending on your child's class, with any questions.
