Happy Summer, my young friends!
I hope you have an enjoyable and adventurous summer.
Keep reading and writing...practice math skills, too!

Reflections
This has been an exciting year filled with learning and, of course, many laughs. Students  learned many valuable life lessons in 4th grade.

Here are some of them...
  • Believe in yourself and you can achieve your goals
  • Keys to success: You need to have a positive attitude and put in effort to achieve or complete an activity
  • Perseverance-not giving up when something is challenging
  • Don't rush- careless mistakes happen when you rush
  • READ THE WORDS ON THE PAGE! Take your time to read carefully to understand directions, what a problem is asking, and to understand a text. It makes you independent.
  • Quality is more important than quantity: Doing a little work correctly is more beneficial than doing a lot work incorrectly
  • CHECK YOUR WORK! Does it make sense?
  • Think before you act: think about consequences of your actions
Will I be distracting to myself or others?
Is it true, helpful, inspiring, necessary, kind?
  • Compassion and empathy: put myself in someone else's shoes to understand what life was/is like for them (ex. immigrants, siblings, parents, classmates)
  • Accept people's differences...we are all unique
  • Be patient when...
           - teacher is doing something
           - waiting in line
           - with yourself to learn or solve something new (freaking out will             not help you solve the problem, it's like building a wall around your             brain
           - waiting to be called on when raising your hand
  • seriousness is sometimes required
You can't always be laughing and fooling because it may keep you             from learning and doing your work
