Honors 8th Grade ELA is geared for the student who wishes to take their learning above and beyond.  During the first marking period, students will be guided into the curricula with an understanding that the work will become more rigorous as the year unfolds.  Students in this class are required to work independently in and out of the classroom.  Extensive independent reading and Writing outside of the classroom will be expected.  Work assigned for home needs to be completed by the student at home so the teacher is able to build upon and deepen their understanding.  Students taking this Honors-level class are working toward taking Honors English I entering high school as a Freshman.
