Laboratory Safety Rules
1. Read ALL instructions before beginning work.
Follow your teacher’s directions completely.
2. NEVER do any lab work without your teacher’s supervision.
3. Locate and USE all required safety equipment.
When goggles are called for, keep them on at all times!
4. Report all accidents to your teacher IMMEDIATELY.
5. NO RUNNING, PLAYING, or FOOLING AROUND; you will be removed
from lab without a warning and receive a zero.
6. Keep your lab area neat and uncluttered; all unnecessary
items will remain on your desk.
7. Lose sleeves, open shoes and loose long hair are not
permitted – please dress appropriately.
8. Keep lab equipment away from the edges of the lab table.
9. Do not touch broken, cracked, or chipped glassware.
10. NEVER reach over a flame or heat source.
11. NEVER smell a chemical directly; waft vapors toward your
nose. NEVER TASTE ANYTHING unless you were directed to!
12. Turn off water when not in use.
13. Do NOT play with gas jets.
