I have been teaching for 23 years, 22 of which have been at Aura School.  I graduated with a degree in Psychology and then earned a Master's degree in teaching.  I also have a middle school certification in mathematics.  I have taught grades 4th through 8th, but I really enjoy teaching sixth grade!

I have the most amazing family.  I am married with two boys.  Ian is 22 years old and lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ryan is 18 years old and is starting his first year of college at Johns Hopkins University.  Mr. Carter is a lawyer.  I love spending time with my family, whether it is traveling to places like New Mexico or the beach (Ocean City) or watching movies together or going to Union games or soccer tournaments.  We love to go out to go out to dinner or go for pizza.  Something you will learn about me is that I am a health nut and I generally try not to eat a lot of processed food - limited sugar, limited gluten, and limited dairy.  But I do splurge and have pizza - my favorite food. I LOVE Manco and Manco pizza in Ocean City. Another tidbit about me is that we adopted a dog from a rescue shelter seven years ago and named her Zoe. And then three summers later we rescued another pitbull, but a puppy. Her name is Violet and she is a blue-nosed pitbull.

Some of my hobbies include exercising, cooking, spending time with family, and reading.  When I am not at school or home, I can most often be found at the gym.  I am a gymaholic!  In fact I usually wake up around 5am during the week so I can work out or go to the gym at 5:15am (while you're still sleeping) to exercise before school! We converted our playroom to a workout room recently.  I also love to write!  I am an aspiring author and hope to publish a book some day.  I am a huge soccer fan, and I absolutely love Chelsea and Manchester City, both European teams.  Weekends at the Carter household always involve soccer since both my boys are avid year-round soccer players.  We are also huge basketball fans and love the Sixers. My favorite player is Matisse Thybulle and Tyrese Maxey.

Finally, some of my other favorite things include:  coffee, Target, the beach, dark chocolate, hiking, sneakers, Mexican food, almond butter, sunny days, and all kinds of music.
