Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to Kindergarten! I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and welcome your child to my class.
My name is Elisa Chapman, and I live in LaPlace with my family. I have been married for 26 years to my husband, Stephen, and we have three children, Jack (21), Thomas (19 1/2), and Katherine (15). My family is completed with our dogs, Lola, Frank, and Maggie, and our cat, Leon. I grew up in LaPlace and went to school here from 1st through 12th grade. I enjoy reading, gardening, eating healthy, and exercising. I also enjoy watching or attending local sports teams’ games, the Saints and Pelicans, but most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets.
This is my 24th year teaching, with twenty years in St. John the Baptist Parish. My years of experience include twenty years in kindergarten, three years in 5th grade, and one year in pre-K4. I love my profession just as much as I did the very first year. I believe in educating the whole child, not only fostering academic development, but social and emotional development as well. I strive to provide a welcoming classroom environment where your child can grow in both areas.
My heart has always been with the younger children, and each year I am inspired as I watch them learn and grow. I feel that by working cooperatively together for the best of the children, we will succeed in making this school year the best that it can be! Let’s have a SUPER year! 😊
Sincerely,
Mrs. Chapman
