WHY SHOULD I TAKE AP LIT? 

 

It teaches analysis, logic, and inference skills. 

 

Literature reflects life, and literature can help us develop empathy. 

 

Literature allows us to see things from different perspectives, which makes us better global citizens and helps us to be more understanding of the people we encounter. 

 

Reading at the depth of AP helps us to personalize the experiences of the characters and their interactions with each other and with their surroundings. Being in an AP class allows us to share a common human experience that we cannot get when reading alone, or not reading at all.
