Week of May 11-15: Create a Civilization
You are a member of a civilization that has never been discovered before – until now! Your people have decided that they want to introduce themselves to other civilizations. They chose you to be a spokesperson at the upcoming “world civilization conference”. You must give details about your civilization.You will answer the following series of questions to tell about your civilization. You have the freedom to be creative when making your civilization. However, some of your decisions (geographic location, type of religion, etc.) will impact your answers to future questions. Be consistent among your civilization components! The detailed directions are in Teams. When finished, complete the PowerPoint template with your information. You may be as creative as you wish, just be sure to include the requested information.
This assignment serves as your comprehensive review. Throughout this school year, you have learned about many people and places and what distinguishes them from others around the globe. It was the components of their civilization that gave them pride, made them unique, and made them attractive to other civilizations that wanted to become trade partners, tourists, or even conquerors. It is my hope that you have broadened your horizons when it comes to social studies, and that you will continue to appreciate the people and places that fill our world full of wonder. And yes, that includes you!
Week of May 4-8: Renaissance Bingo-Quarantine Edition
This week we are wrapping up our study of the Renaissance with a Bingo activity. You will select any 3 activities from Renaissance Bingo that you like. You will then create a Powerpoint of these activities. Each activity should have it’s own slide. Everything is virtual! So if it says “poster” that means a slide, just include all the correct information. T-shirt? Find an outline of a t-shirt online and use it as your background. Have fun and show off some of what you have learned this last month!
The completed powerpoint is due Friday via teams. You should also be sure to complete your work from previous weeks before you begin this week’s. You can do as much as you want at a time, just do them in the order listed here because each one builds on the other. I’ve also given you some suggested time frames to help you pace yourself. Y’all know I love my timers!
