This week we are studying the beginnings of the Reformation and how its events led to the development of new Christian churches that still exist today. You have 3 tasks to complete by Friday. Week of Apil 20-25: The Renaissance
This week we are studying the beginnings of the Renaissance and the people who helped shape the way we view the world today. Between 1350 and 1650, ways of thinking changed greatly in Europe. As the Black Death eased, people became more confident about the future. Their interest in learning and the arts was renewed. This new interest in culture is called the Renaissance, from the French word for “rebirth”.

Week of April 13-17: Spring Break
No new assignments this week. Make sure you have everything else completed and don't forget to use the turn in button! I can't grade it unless you click that magic button! Have some fun this week- get outside, sleep late, be silly, and come back ready to tackle the last four weeks!
Week of April 6-9: The Plague
This week we are studying The Plague- no, not the one we are having right now, but the one that nearly destroyed Europe between 1300-1500 CE. Although little is known about its origins, the death and destruction it caused is well documented and changed Europe forever. There are many correlations between that time and what we are experiencing right now. Fortunately, we have historical studies and medical advancements to help us avoid the same fate as those 500 years ago; however, the mental toll and emotional experience was much the same.
You have 4 tasks to complete by Friday. You should also be sure to complete your work from last week before you begin this week’s. Task #1: CSI: London (30 minutes)
-You will begin this week playing detective. Something is killing the residents of London and you need to sift through the witness statements for clues to figure it out.

-Open CSI: London doc and read though each witness statement carefully.
-Make notes on each statement as you go. Your goal is to figure out what is causing this.

-Since we are going through our own plague of historic proportions that will most certainly make it in textbooks in the future, you have the chance to write your own primary source document.

-Write about your experience with COVID-19. This needs to be an ongoing thing where you continue to add your thoughts and experiences over the next few months. Obviously, we won’t still be in school then but you can still document your story for future generations.
