Dear Second Grader,
Hello, my name is Miss Ryan Malloy. I am excited to be starting my 18th year at Aura School! I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. I must say, second grade is pretty spectacular! My favorite thing about second grade is watching you become a super reader and writer as you start to become an independent learner.
I grew up in neighboring Glassboro, Go Bulldogs, and reside in my hometown today. I knew I wanted to become a teacher since the 4th grade thanks to all of the fantastic teachers I had growing up. After high school I went to Rowan University where I earned two bachelors degrees - one in Education and the other in American Studies. I also went on to earn a Masters in Science in Teaching degree in graduate school.
Outside of school I love to travel and spend time with my family, my dogs, and my friends. A few more of my favorite things include junk food, coffee, the color orange, Fall, holiday celebrations, traveling when I can, shopping, going out to eat and supporting my favorite sports teams - the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Phillies.
I cannot wait to get to know all about you this school year. We will have plenty of time to share our favorite things and stories with one another. I hope you are ready for an outstanding year in second grade. You are going to learn and grow so much!
