The Power of Positive Behavior!
Your child is entering a positive learning environment! Taking ownership by tracking his or her own behavior on our class's Clip Tracker Behavior chart. Every student will start his or her day at the green level, "Ready to Learn," and simply move his or her clothespin up or down throughout the day depending on his or her behavior.
Behavior Scale:
Ready to Learn: Every school day is a fresh beginning. All students start their day "Ready to learn."
Moving a Clip Up
Great Choice: A student who goes above expectations and makes great choices throughout the day will move up to Great Choice. This also earns your child $5.
Outstanding: This is for the child who goes above and beyond expectations the entire day and shows a willingness to help others. This earns $10.
Super Star: A Super Star is someone who shows leadership that day in whole group, outside of the classroom, during centers. This is a student who really took charge of his/her learning and the learning of others. Super Star status earns $20.
Moving a Clip Down
Reminder: If your child needs a reminder to get back on track he or she will move his or her clip down to Reminder.
Stop and Think: A student who requires two or three reminders throughout the day will find his/her clip moved down to Stop and Think. A note would then go home in your child's agenda.
Contact Home: A phone call or E-mail home will be made if your child has required more than 3 warnings about disruptive or inappropriate behavior throughout the day.
