Attendance Policy:

We have attendance policies for performance groups. If your child misses three Choir club rehearsals, it is possible they will not know the music enough to perform it and will need to be removed from the group. Please be sure to communicate with me about any vacations, illnesses, leaving early, or any other reason your child might be out so that it will not count against them.

 

Uniform:

The uniform for all music club performances is "Wear black, look nice!" Accessories are OK. No leggings or tank-tops.

 

Practice at Home:

All music club students have a google classroom with practice recordings to use at home. Please feel free to email for access.

 

Performances:

We have two mandatory performances every year- one in November and one in April. 

 

Honor Choir: (Fifth Grade Only)

For fifth grade only, there is an opportunity to audition and be selected for performance in the Lee County Honor Choir. This is a group that will perform a one-time concert with the best other elementary school singers in Lee County. There are only four spots. The four audition winners will then have one big field trip where they sing all day and have a concert that night. Because only four students from each school are selected, there is no bus transportation. 

 

If your child wins the audition and you accept the role, you will be responsible for transporting your child there in the morning, after rehearsal, and to/from the concert that evening at the same location. If you want your child to have this opportunity please be sure you can commit to the transportation element, or reach out for help arranging a carpool.
