4th Grade Social Studies & Science- 2026-27

Welcome to 4th Grade Social Studies & Science at Roy Neal Shelling, Sr. Elementary School. This year we will study how people, living things, and the Earth shape one another over time- from the first cities of Mesopotamia to the rock layers under our own feet in Louisiana.

 

Our number this year is 88. It means every assignment in this room carries the rigor of the LEAP test, and it means we are aiming past Mastery on purpose- because a class that aims at the ceiling doesn't land on the floor. Families should expect work that looks like April all year long, and should expect their child to be stretched by it.

 

We live by one truth in Room 213: If I'm not willing to learn, no one can help me. If I'm determined to learn, no one can stop me. Every student who walks through that door will learn that one person can changed the world- and that person is them.
